IF IT RAINS ON COMMUNITY SERVE DAY, this project will still take place.

Spend the morning making teddy bears that go to disaster and trauma sites.  We will also be supporting active military members by making helmet coolers: trace patterns onto material, cut material, sew coolers, turn them, fill them with the beads that keep our troops cool, stitch the closure, add a label and attach a note of encouragement. Popular with military troops, the coolers can be used over and over. Men and women welcome! Sewing skills are not required, but we do need several sewers and sewing machines to make this project effective.

Minimum volunteer age is 10.

Dress simply – your Community Serve Day t-shirt, jeans or shorts (you'll be indoors) and comfortable shoes. Dress in layers - room may be cool early in the morning.

If you have material, , thread or sewing machines to use or share for the day, please bring them with you.

We will have a snack bar available with coffee, tea, cocoa and goodies. Donated goodies welcomed.
