IF IT RAINS ON COMMUNITY SERVE DAY, this project will still take place.

Nearly 80 percent of individuals who experience severe vision impairment in the United States are 55 or older. The loss of vision at this stage in life is generally a result of age related changes to the eye. Some people experience partial loss of vision, while others are left completely without sight. San Diego Center for the Blind is committed to easing the challenges that individuals faced with vision loss must overcome.

Support the San Diego Center for the Blind with a spring cleaning on Community Serve Day - cleaning their community kitchen, washing windows & screens, cleaning blinds & fans throughout the facility and doing a little garden work.

This is a great project for families! All ages welcome.

Dress for a morning of indoor & outdoor projects – your Community Serve Day T-shirt, pants that you can get dirty, sunscreen and comfortable shoes. Don't forget to bring some water.

If you have extra cleaning or gardening tools and supplies to use or to share, please bring them for the day: gloves, buckets, sponges, small squeegees and cleaning rags.
