Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve is located within San Diego city limits and yet remains one of the wildest stretches of land on our Southern California coast! Because of the efforts and foresight of the people in this area, 2000 acres of land are as they were before San Diego was developed, with the chaparral plant community, the rare and elegant Torrey pine trees, miles of unspoiled beaches, and a lagoon that is vital to migrating seabirds. Torrey Pines is visited by travelers from all over the world and by local residents who come daily to rest at the stunning overlooks, walk a peaceful trail, or exercise in a clean, beautiful environment.

Join us as we help to keep Torrey Pines beautiful for all to enjoy! Projects will include pruning, trimming, sand removal/pathway maintenance and removal of non-native plants. Sand removal might be a fun project for young kids with pails, shovels and brooms!

Minimum volunteer age is 3 (with supervision).

Dress for a morning of outdoor projects – your Community Serve Day T-shirt, pants that you can get dirty, a hat, gloves, sunscreen and comfortable shoes. Don't forget to bring some water!

If you have extra gloves, pruners, trimmers, rakes or brooms that you'd like to share, please bring them for the day.
