SDRVC is a non-profit land conservancy that preserves, protects, and shares the natural and cultural resources of the San Diego River Valley and River Park through collaborative efforts to acquire lands, complete trails, restore habitats, establish educational programs, encourage recreation and mobilize public support.

The Community Serve Day project will take place at the beautiful Brigantine Basin Wetlands, which are located in the San Dieguito Lagoon west of the racetrack. The project will involve the removal of invasive, non-native plant species that have taken hold in the area.

This is a great project for families and teens! Minimum volunteer age is 10. Be advised that off-trail hiking will be required to reach the site.

Dress for a morning of outdoor projects – your Community Serve Day T-shirt, long pants that you can get dirty, a hat, sunscreen and comfortable closed-toe shoes. You may wish to also wear long sleeves to protect your arms from the brush, and remember that layers are a good idea as coastal weather can be unpredictable. Don't forget to bring some water!

We will have work gloves and tools available, but please feel free to bring your own if you would prefer.
