Encinitas parks are second to none. The Parks and Recreation Department is responsible for the maintenance and operation of over 140 acres of developed and undeveloped parks, including 19 unique community parks, three sports parks, a world-class skatepark and off-leash dog park and some of the best playgrounds anywhere in the County. The trail system, which in accordance with the Encinitas Recreational Trails Master Plan, will eventually encompass 85.8 miles, and consists of: 1) natural, hard surface paths; 2) soft surface trails; and 3) sidewalks that complete linkages in the system. The system extends throughout all five Encinitas communities and provides safe, non-motorized routes that connect people to parks, open space, schools and other amenities.
Join us this Community Serve Day as we enhance the beauty of the Wiro Park. We will be spreading new mulch, which makes this a great family-friendly project because adults and kids of ANY age can help rake out the mulch. The City has been very helpful with organizing this effort, and is very thankful each year for our service.
Please note: No restrooms on site.A great all-family project as there is no minimum age!
If you have a wheelbarrow, rakes, shovels, and large buckets, please bring them along to use and share.
