IF IT RAINS ON COMMUNITY SERVE DAY, this project will still take place.

Community Serve Day has been partnering up with the Head Start program since the 1st Community Serve Day. Throughout the years, we have built a relationship and appreciate all the projects we have been able to accomplish throughout the years. Head Start is a federally funded program for low-income and special needs children. Parents need to be working or enrolled in school to qualify and meet the poverty guidelines. North Coast Head Start serves 60 children ages 3-5.

This year Community Serve Day where we have various planned activities and projects to enhance our preschool. One of the most important things is the health and safety of our children, so we are hoping to disinfectant and sanitize all classroom materials and toys.

We are also seeking volunteers to help shampoo the classroom carpets.  We are looking for volunteers to help us organize our supply/storage room which will include building new storage shelves and organizing toys, books, and materials for the teachers to easily use. We would like to have some volunteers to assist with gardening.

Since they are a full-time preschool they don’t have days to fully devote to a cleanup day which is desperately needed and are very appreciative for the help.

Minimum age is 8.

Dress for a morning outside and in the sunshine – your Community Serve Day T-shirt, pants that you can get dirty, sunscreen, a hat and comfortable shoes. Don't forget to bring some water!
