IF IT RAINS ON COMMUNITY SERVE DAY, this project will still take place.

Specific Work:  Moving Gardens to a School Site
Work Time:  Arrive: 9:15AM and complete project by 11:45AM.
The San Diego Cooperative Charter School is a public school site that serves 20% special needs children and 80% typical peers. The school is based on co-op model where parents work in the school on a regular basis to support student learning. The school has been helping students for 5 years and has a sister site that has served students for 15 years and is one of the oldest charter schools in San Diego.

The school is moving 7 garden boxes and other gardening equipment. The soil will be removed by volunteers from the garden boxes on to a trailer, the wood garden boxes will be loaded onto a trailer and towed two city blocks to the school site.

Minimum age to help on this project is 5 years old with parent supervision.  No minimum age to attend if parent supervises.

Dress for a morning of outdoor activities – your Community Serve Day T-shirt, pants/shirts that you can get dirty, work gloves, and comfortable, closed-toe shoes. Don't forget to bring some water and sunscreen.

If you have a truck and a trailer, please let me know and I won't have to rent a trailer.

Meeting Spot:
We will be meeting at the garden location: 36th Street and Boston Ave
and then moving the garden beds to 666 South 36th Street, San Diego, Ca 92113
